The narrative portion of all Inquisitorial battle reports should be posted here until next week's thread is set up.
While you can choose to play the campaign with a more strategic focus than narrative, your report still requires a story (which does matter, so write something). Remember also that narrative is for advancing the story, not giving a dry, blow-by-blow account of your game.

Ten Imperial Guardsmen hung on improvised gallows, razorwire nooses slicked red against the tattered flesh of their necks.
"They should not have resisted us," Inquisitor Kurlin said. He ran a metal finger through the blood dropping onto the boot of one of the hanging men and drew it across the bloodcord across his chest. "And yet we are still no closer to the source of the heresy. We only see its evidence, not its root. Time is not our ally."
"Perhaps we should backtrack to Erudalis IV?" The Canoness rested her bolter against the top of her shoulder pauldron. "We had stronger leads there."
"Evidence of the books surround us here, Alsatia. We must not leave this deed undone. But my daughter can go back. It would be a valuable experience to her. She can take Palatine Aranya."
"As you wish, mlord."
What good fortune to have such like minded help as this, Kurlin thought. It could be that I am too obvious here. Eyes may be watching my every move. My notoriety counts against me this time. But a smaller band of Inquisitors....yes, that may suffice. I will distract here while they move silently to Erudalis IV. There they may pass final judgment on the world in my name and His.
He swatted the foot of the dead gaurdsmen and sent him spinning until the wire clenched and spun him opposite. A fresh rain of blood fell. "I am a consumate chessmaster," Kurlin muttered. "And I know what to sacrifice for the endgame."
