The narrative portion of all Ork battle reports should be posted here until next week's thread is set up.
While you can choose to play the campaign with a more strategic focus than narrative, your report still requires a story (which does matter, so write something). Remember also that narrative is for advancing the story, not giving a dry, blow-by-blow account of your game.

Awesome apocalypse battle on the 27th. Grimbad glanced over the chasm at the field. A long tract of it ran alongside the canyon leading up to the starport, where the 'umie transports had just lifted off, leaving their men temporarily unsupported. A sudden flash and the tellyporta array had done its work, placing his army right in the middle of the foe alongside the chaos 'umies he had negotiated with to take part in this maneuver. And with that, the noise began. Through the fog he spotted a beakie tank and spurred his supa cyboar towards it. Over his shoulder a red flash caught his eye and he turned to see his brand new stompa go down. He kept riding forward.
The four wyrdboyz held the tower, continuing their orkish chant. Huge green fists and feet rained down from the sky, denting the armor of baneblades but nothing more. Their grots manned the missile towers, firing off bursts as a huge eldar flyer screamed overhead.
Grimbad slashed at the rhino with his claw, trying to tear some sort of hole. As he did, the rear hatch clanged open and a squad of marines poured out, spraying him and his boar with bolter shells. Grimbad was relatively unharmed, but fell off his boar. Then, rearing up and shrieking, the boar finally collapsed, trapping the warboss beneath its steel-reinforced bulk.
Flashes lit the field, shimmering holes in reality flickered and danced across the mud and waste, consuming all they touched. But the imperium still held. The battle was lost. Grimbad gave the order and the boyz tellyported out, back to base to plan the next attack.
