Welcome Necron players!
As moderator and writer behind the diabolical schemes of the C'Tan, I will be available for any questions or problems that you have. Feel free to PM me. Of course, it would be wrong of me to personally direct what you do, so for that you'll have to pick your own leader.
I'm rather excited about this, as we have some very interesting storylines here.

The main section of what is now known as 'the hulk' was originally an terrible weapon, deployed millions of years ago by the old ones - a truly ancient race. It was used during the War in Heaven, an apocalyptic war between the forces of the C'tan and their servants, the Necontyr, and the Old Ones and their races. The hulk was constructed towards the end of the war as part of a desperate bid to hold back the seemingly unstoppable Necron advance. Employing the most advanced warp and realspace weaponry that had ever been devised in the history of the galaxy, the hulk was responsible for many of the scarce battles one by the force of the Old Ones during those desperate days.
Seeing how great a threat the hulk posed the C'tan decided that it must be destroyed, or better captured - whatever the cost. In a highly daring attack an entire Necron warfleet, numbering thousands of tomb ship and heavy cruisers, ambushed the hulk and its entourage of allies, attacking it with all the firepower they could muster. However the hulk's weaponry was far too powerful, and although it sustained heavy damage managed to destroy many Necrontyr ships. The Necron forces were broken, and decided upon one last suicide tactic. The remaining fleet formed up into one single mass and charged at the hulk, smashing aside the flotilla or vessels guarding it. Many ships were annihilated by the terrible warp weaponry that the Old Ones had devised, but several capital ships managed to break through. With their propulsion systems on full they ploughed into the rear of the hulk, burying themselves deep into it's superstructure and crippling it's engines. As the metallic Necron host climbed out of their ruined ships the Old Ones decided upon the only action they could see available. The hulk opened a huge rift in space, right into the heart of the turbulant warp, and submerged itself into it - along with all its passengers, never to be seen again. Until now.
The hulk has now appeared, very different from when it first left the material realm. The ruined ships, still embedded where they were after the suicide attack, appear to be empty - but the growing Necron activity suggests otherwise. After such a huge amount of time exposed to the horrors of the warp only the strongest Necrons could still survive - and it can only be imagined what has happened to them during that time.
The primary Necron goal seems to be destroying the hulk - certainly in the hands of one of the younger enemy races it could be devastating for the newly awakening warriors. However there is another hidden agenda in the form of the last Necrons left aboard the ship - horribly powerful living metal constructs, the greatest war machines and warriors from the war in heaven, the likes of which haven't been seen for nigh on 70 million years.
---------------
Strange signals have also been picked up by monitoring stations scattered around the area, reporting 'ghost' like contacts on the edge of space, rapidly moving at a pace far too fast for any Imperial, Ork, Tau or even Eldar vessel. Although they fade away as fast as they first appear they are growing more rapid, and those who have encountered them recognise their true identity. It seems that the Necrons, already awoken from their slumber, have come to reclaim what was rightfully theirs.

A very good storyline, just a few questions though would the ancient Necrons be hostile to everyone, including Necrons, since their programs have been corrupted and changed. And would the hulk have to be destroyed, could the warp side of it simply be switched of and turned into a suitable weapon for the necrons?

For that my friend, you will have to wait and see I will make clear the campaign goals once we've started proper. Let's just say it won't be entirely clear cut

The Council of the Dead met in their tomb-hall. It had been a ship, long ago, but now was simply a buried Necron construct with chambers that were used for functions where the lords needed to interact. The Tomb Spiders and Scarabs had been cleared out in ages past, taken to ships that would have a better chance of being made operable again.
Now that the planetoid which had formed around their crashed ships had left the Warp, the Sleeping were brought from stasis to join discussion on what to do next. An outsider would have thought that nothing was happening, for the conversation simply passed through their short-range network, but the debate was well under way.
The Shadow Lord, a Wraith who had recovered some of his awareness from exposure to this place, wanted revenge. He remembered the sensation of the C'tan devouring his essence, and the betrayal of watching their gods abandon them on these doomed ships ages ago. They could all feel that his hatred had grown to include their creators, and many shared the sentiment. Some also worried that the C'tan would devour their essence once more if the star gods discovered how much some of them had grown within the hell-dimension.
The Daemonwearer, a Flayed One who was amongst those who had regained much from exposure, thought their best course of action may well be returning their current planetoid to its former domain, safely away from the C'tan, and to take others with them so that they too might regain their awareness. She wanted to call in any nearby Necron fleet, assess them, and then return with them to the Warp if they proved as unchanged as many thought they would be.
The Tombkeeper, an ancient Lord who had remained remarkably unchanged by their exposure, was finally losing his mind. It happened to many, eventually, but was tragic nonetheless. The others hoped that being in the network might help bring him back from his strange thoughts of daemons and other gods - they had been mistreated by the C'tan, they didn't want to beg favors from the hell-gods.
As the network shared its knowledge and thoughts, they reached a conclusion. An ancient signal was sent, and they would soon see what had become of their race in all this time. They would pursue two goals: freeing their fleet to remain in this realm, and gathering those Necrons who came to their aid to either command or lead to the Trials of the Warp.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The primary objective for the arriving Necrons is to disable the hulks' weaponry, the warp based ones especially. The Necrons already on are not some much interested in this but repairing their ships and tearing free. However, such a potent device could be very powerful in the hands of the C'Tan...

Brilliant to have a new Necron on board. Get battling Jet, so we can combat the other races trying to infringe on our ship!
