In a strange lull, battle upon Centarius has contracted to two areas of active engagement - Ionia and the Polar North. Whilst fighting continues elsewhere, it is clear that all major efforts have now come into conflict on these fronts of late, and negligence in other locales breeds opportunity.
As we head into the final week, the Black Ship is almost done resupplying, and when it leaves, Imperial forces are likely to do so as well. Whether Necron and Chaos forces will remain after this opportune visit is uncertain, but the planet is far from won...
As no progress is made in the islands, those civilians who have not been evacuated continue to worsen in their discontent with the Tau Empire. Ferries for the populace have ground to a halt amidst the fighting, and there are whispers in the night of turning to what Imperial forces remain in the area for help.
Some speculate that whatever was going on amidst these waterlogged lands has already reached completion. Indeed, Necron and Chaos forces don’t appear to be moving about on this continent any more whilst Tau patrols of the areas they’ve taken are meeting with minimal resistance.
As Ork and Imperial forces began a final round of desperate attacks upon these lands, they were met by the redoubled efforts of the Tau defenders. Of note, Quicksilver Cadre has been seen not only attacking these invaders, but also re-conquering territory which had fallen into their hands. It would seem that the continent of Ionia is firmly under Tau control, and evacuation of civilians from this hot-zone appears to have been secured.
Resupplying of the Black Ship continues at a disturbingly slow pace at Burgundia spaceport. The Imperial hold on these lands is tenuous at best, and it appears that the success of this mission, from the Imperial perspective, relies upon a tenuous agreement between Tau and Inquisitorial leaders.
Amidst the madness of these frozen lands, the fighting has only escalated.
Chaos forces slowly push outwards, reclaiming their outer defenses in a careful, planned manner which makes the newly-held positions even more dangerous to further invaders. Meanwhile, a large altar has been raised on the planet’s surface within the central camp of the Iron Warriors. Many fear that the sorcerers amongst the fortifications are planning to harness even greater Warp energies than previously seen.
Necron forces have moved into the outer reaches of the mineworks from the positions they recently took, and wild speculation has begun that the Lord in charge of this attack force is actually some sort of tunnel-fighting specialist. Whatever the truth, these unloving terrors have further consolidated their position.
As the armored division of the planet’s militia moved towards Wulfgedden, it has become apparent that there is dissent amongst the Gue’vesa over their standing orders. The people of Centarius, it appears, are quite accustomed to defending what is theirs.
As of yet, Imperial and Ork forces have been unable to dislodge each other from their positions here. While time runs out on the window for Imperial support, things do not look good for the survivors of any Imperial vessels which may have crashed in the area.
