War rages on, and it would appear that some forces have simply lost hope for Centarius.
Indeed, there hasn’t been an Eldar sighted in days, the Imperium’s armies seem to have ceased attempting to take territory from their enemies, and even the warlike Orks have not been pushing forward in recent days.
Yet this world is not quiet.
In the absence of so many, those who remain active battle fiercely amongst themselves. While Chaos forces strike at all within reach, both Tau and Necron forces seem to have independently decided that the largest threat to their own efforts is the presence of Chaos upon Centarius. As they strike against their mutual foe, the question remains:
Which will turn upon the other first?
Aetna
Control of these islands remains highly contested, with no side making clear gains against the others. Some of the remaining natives are becoming bitter, claiming that they were abandoned to their fate by the Tau with only a token force to appease those who were already evacuated.
Genesis
Necron forces returned to the surface this week, apparently finished with whatever business had kept them below-ground for so long. Immediately mobilizing, the Necrons once more proved that their actions can be unpredictable, turning upon one of the largest Chaos encampments on the continent before a large detachment of these metal warriors headed northwards.
Meanwhile, the local fishing fleets have begun ferrying the planetary militia’s tanks to whatever field of conflict they desire – starting with Genesis. Caught between their former allies and a Tau-sympathizing tank company, the Chaos presence had no choice but to withdraw to more-secure locations.
Ionia
Whilst they have ceased winning ground, the guerilla forces of Ionia have continued to prevent any invaders from making serious headway on this continent. Tau leaders have been quick to spread stories of these warriors’ exploits across the seas, hoping to see similar efforts – and results – from the local populace of the other lands.
Mycenea
The local militia’s attacks on Chaos forces here have proven fairly successful, as have their attempts to reclaim parts of Burgandia from all manner of invaders. Unfortunately, it appears that Inquisitorial forces have chosen to make contact with the planet’s human population, and what comes of this could change the very course of the war on this Centarius. Losing their human allies would greatly weaken the Tau war effort.
Meanwhile, the Black Ship of the Inquisition rests at the Burgundia spaceport. Gathering supplies and refueling have proven difficult amid the battle, and this crucial vessel is vulnerable…
Polar North
As Chaos forced shored up their defenses and made preparations to deal with the menace of the newly-arrived Tyranids, they were faced with another threat – the Necrons are on the move. Early warnings from outposts on Genesis allowed the Iron Warriors to hold a great deal of contested territory, but they couldn’t prevent much of what would have been in Chaos hands from falling to these relics of ancient times.
Fortunately for the Iron Warriors, it appears that the bulk of the Tyranids have been slowed down in attempts to consume all the biomass within the territory they already took. The initial advance of their swarms has almost ground to a halt, for now.
Polar South
As though heralded by the appearance of their former brethren, a Chaos warband launched attacks upon the Astartes in the southernmost lands this week. Still attempting to fortify their positions and keep the each other at bay, Imperial and Ork forces were pushed back by the followers of the Ruinous Powers as a third contender joined the struggle for the unusual lands to be found here.
The crashed Imperial hero, Veneris, rumored to be somewhere on this landmass, has not yet been rescued.
