The narrative portion of all Space Marine battle reports should be posted here until next week's thread is set up.
Remember that this is a narrative campaign and we are looking for a story that advances the plot, not a blow-by-blow accounting of the game.

Captain Tevon’s power fist’s armored fingers ripped into the chest of the metallic warrior. Teven closed his grip, crushing the metal and crystal interior components that made up the organs of the necrons. The captain pulled his power fist back, tearing out most of the chest cavity of the necron warrior, tossing the crumpled mess off to the side. The necron warrior fell, but Tevon noted that it still twitched and it’s metallic head swung slowly to look up into his eyes. Tevon stomped the massive boot of his terminator armor down to flatten it.
Things didn’t look so good on this flank. His marines were holding the large woods on the right flank, while his eldar ‘allies’ along with a one small tactical squad of his marines were holding the woods on the left side of the engagement.
Master Tarrant had sent Tevon and his company to the Eldar after clearing out the main nest of Tyranids near the Blood Dragon’s true objective. One of his missions was to make sure the Eldar survived to find whatever it was they were so interested in. It seems these Necrons on the Hulk were intent on stopping them, and Tarrant judged the Eldar to be too week to support themselves. Our price would be sharing in the Eldar’s discovery. At the very least, the Necrons could not be allowed to prevail here.
Tevon noted Tarrant was right about something else. Tarrant had warned him that the Eldar would seek to use him as a shield, and not sacrifice any of their own warriors if they could let marines die in their stead. Judging by the fact that the Eldar brought all Wraith constructs and snipers Tevon knew Tarrant to have been right. To use others to fight your own battles could only lead to weakness.
Tevon supposed that it didn’t help that his forces were fighting 2/3rds of the necron forces. At least his forces were holding their own. Still, even his marines couldn’t take much more of this. They needed to get out of the line of fire and lure the necrons close.
“Blood Dragons, fall back to the rear of the woods. Gather at point 2-3 and prepare to counter attack the necron forces that enter the woods.”
Another whole squad of Necron warriors was entering the woods, intent on pursing the retreating marines. The few that could see the marines fired their green energy bolts at the retreating Blood Dragons, but before they could continue the chase or the marines could spring the counter charge the Necrons vanished.
Sergent Sebastion, who commanded the tactical squad embedded with the eldar forces, shed some light on the situation. “Sir, the Eldar sent their small wraith constructs and their one large one forward. The Necron command machine wiped out the smalls ones, but the large one these eldar call a Wraith Lord then joined battle with it. Apparently the necron commander didn’t like his odds, because he teleported away with what remained of their forces.”
“Yes, the warriors on this side left as well. Sergeant, maintain your position. We will join you shortly.”
Time to gather up the wounded and the dead. The necron assault was stopped. Time also to see what the Eldar have discovered.

Techmarine Turiel stood studying the body of one of the Tryanid warriors. It was riddled with bolter holes, but still was largely intact. Turiel would have it sent back to the Forlorn Hope for further analysis.
His small group of marines was attacked by a marauding band of Tryanids led by three warriors. While second company had cleansed the area of the main Tyranid hive, there still remained small groups of Tryanids, which roamed about, attacking the unwary.
Turiel hoped he would not be interrupted again. He needed to complete his sensor scans here on the ground and send the data back to Zarack aboard the Forlorn Hope.
Other groups of marines where scouting the other derelict ships. All so far proved worthless. Smashed and rusting scrap. Still the prize was buried deep.
Time was running out. Ascanius was on his way, and Turiel knew a master Techmarine was coming with the fleet. The excavation would begin soon. They must get to TPRDCV142 in time. Turiel sensed the situation in the Tiorl system was about to change.
