The transmitter was a short-ranged model by choice, there was no reason to broadcast to the planet a discussion that did not include anything beyond the mountains.
"Greetings, Craftworlders.
I am Lord Malkyrus of the Court of the Dark Prince. Some of you may know of us, others may not. This matters little.
It has come to our attention that you are engaging in hostilities with the forces of the Poisoned Eye, and that such actions may well cause the loss of this vessel to both our peoples.
The Dark Court would like to initiate negotiations pertaining to the fate of the ship we all occupy. There is no need for Kin-strife here and now, and the time grows short in which we could act in this locale.
Kindly state your intentions, so that we can reach an agreement. I await your response"
OOC: So, with the latest week actually having the Eldar fight the DE and the Weekly Report putting them in a position to talk, what are you craftworlders going to do?
I'm playing a group from the Dark Court (who worked with the Harlies and craftworlders on Medusa V), so I'm inclined towards a little discussion, but if you just want to go at it...

Vialia listened to the message with interest. The initial refusal to leave the Dark Ship had met with a mass of the Dark Kin emerging from the tunnels to assault the position of the Alaitoc forces. As the message pointed out, however, time was short. If things did not change the whole hulk would be annihilated along with the planet below. She had to make a decision now being the one who had initiated this quest and being the leader of the craftworld forces on board.
"Lord Malkyrus, I am Vialia of Alaitoc, and I propose the following. It seems, at the very least, that this hulk is doomed. We must get the ship away from here. We will not interfere in that at this point. What I will require is that we retain equal forces on board. The ship will be equally crewed by members of both of our kin along with a contingent of Harlequin volunteers to keep us from being at odds with one another. From this point on the ship will be used to further the goals of the entire Eldar race.
In pursuit of those goals, you may do what you will -- raid, take slaves, and so forth, as long as the ship is never used against others of our kin. The ship will also be put at the disposal of any craftworld that desires it and has such dire need. Working together this force could become a formidable tool for the betterment of us all.
This is my proposal. Anything less than this and we will fight you, even if it means the destruction of the vessel. I await your response."
OOC: I played one battle against DE already. This will be the attack mentioned above. I'll be wrinting the Batrep later this afternoon or evening.

Malkyrus found Uzqara Seerbane's face amusing as he listened to the message being replayed for her.
"They dare?" Fire in her voice, Uzqara's outrage was clear. "This is my ship - mine, claimed by the laws of their wandering pirates - and yet they demand equal presence and that we go at their beck and call to every petty squabble they deem an emergency?"
The expert-torturer-warlord smiled at the depth of the insult to his companion. "Yes, they do. The Lost Kin have always thought themselves our betters, and they would not bargain for less than control of this ship even as you reactivate its systems. It is their way.” “You have fewer issues with the craftworlders than many nobles, Seerbane, and your desire for such a grand centerpiece in your fleet was bound to meet with complications. They would give you the vessel, even help in its operation, as long as you let them recall it to their emergencies."
Violent energy needing an outlet, Uzqara began stalking along the far wall. “They could plan to betray me. I should simply set the thing to overload and build a grand flagship from the remains of their craft.”
“What a marvelous plan for making unreasonable enemies of two of their largest communities. The Poisoned Eye has a reputation for thinking further ahead than that. They would not betray you with the Harlequins present, just as you would not turn on them with the Laughing God watching. Besides, oath-breaking is more common amongst our society.” “The Yngir have done much to destroy the weapons of this ship. It is but a massive, durable shell within which you could establish the needed resources to maintenance your fleet. If there are times when craftworlders would protect your base while they too used it for repairs and a staging area, what do you truly lose?”
The Archite of the Poisoned Eye stopped her frenzied pacing and abruptly sat, stroking the hilt of her wraithbone sword as she considered. “The Dark Court is quite adept at making the course they desire seem beneficial. What use would this base be to you?”
“There’s too few fleets of the True Kin wandering the Webway, dear Lady. We see great benefit in freeing one more of our allies from the politics of the webway-cities. It removes any complications from our later dealings, and the Dark Prince seems to think you could be of future assistance. Besides, you’d owe us.” No effort was made to hide Malkyrus’ smile at this. He knew of Seerbanes origin and that she would be proud of her own honor – or at least what passed for such amongst the Dark Eldar.
“A few clarifications and an amendment are needed, then. The vessel itself will be turned into a station for repairing and resupplying other ships. It will be a forward base of operations within the Webway, and not used as a weapon. Those craftworlds who aid in its acquisition may call upon it to serve this purpose should they find themselves in dire need of such a base, and we will raid the systems nearby as suits us. We will not answer to every petty craftworld vessel merely because a select few have an agreement with us.” “If this does not suit them, they can leave my ship after they've finished the work the Yngir started and ensured that the weapons array will never function again. Should they refuse both these options, they will find I still hold enough of the ship to determine its fate. I'm sure an infestation of Krork-spawn would be an appropriate gift for those who would steal what is mine...”
Malkyrus smiled. "That should suit them well enough.. I will convey your addition to the terms - without the threat. They expect such a response from us, no need to state the obvious..."

Vialia examined the latest message from Lord Malkyrus. It was a fair offer, but it still did not sit well with her. She was uneasy in dealing with the fallen kin. It was so much easier to read the humans' intentions and steer them in the right direction. Maybe, she thought to herself, I put too much value on these "lesser" beings. That was the crux of the matter. She knew the Dark Kin would use the ship to launch raids on human worlds and it made her feel guilt for some reason. She would do what she had to for now. The situation could always be remedied later.
She pressed the rune on the console to record a message for the Dark Court.
"Lord Malkyrus, I accept your offer. I will detail an equal number of my warriors to join yours aboard the craft. We must get it away as quickly as possible. I have ordered our newly arrived forces to attack the Ork positions on the planet. We must seize the guns from them. I suggest while we do this you use your prior knowledge of the tunnel system to intercept any of the Vermin who are trying to plant homing devices within. If you wish to inflict further damage relocate these devices into the Yngir tombs. Remember to place warp stabilizers on them so the Unliving cannot simply teleport them away. If we can complete this endeavor we may undertake future cooperation in similar mutually beneficial situations.
I will not await your response. I am launching the operation as you hear this message."
Vialia looked down at her hands. It was done. She committed Alaitoc to an alliance with the Dark Kin. She only hoped the rest of the Council would understand. Now she just needed to deal with the Astartes and seal that alliance to its conclusion as well.

This is Knight-Lord Octavian and Chapter Master of the 13th Legion. We have heard news of the Eldar forming an allaince with their Dark Kin. While we begrudgingly accepted the Eldar cease-fire, this is just too much.
We will not work with allies of these renown sadists. These Xenos must be purged with great impunity. You Eldar have betrayed us, you are worthless, vile creatures that are dieing out, to the pleasure of the Emperor.
We will cleanse and purify all Eldar conditions with immense prejudice. The Eldar will pay for their backstabbing ways. We will enact the Emperor's harsh judgment, not only for trusting a Xeno, but having you stab us in the back. You will be purged without remorse.
See you in hell Xeno!

We have seen your forces work together as well as well as intercepted your transmissions. Though you may think you are secretive, the Emperor sees all.
We have seen your forces in our battles on the hulk. Our scouts witnessed you and your Dark Kin on the field. We saw your forces ally to defeat the Necrons.
Burn for Eternity Eldar!

Official Business:
The odds of a Marine even knowing the difference between DE and Eldar are incredibly slim. The odds of humans of any type intercepting and translating a communication which was specifically limited to within an area they don't occupy (that would be inside the crystal ship) are astronommically low.
I think you've just broken into player-knowledge here, WK, and that is to be discouraged. Until you come up with a better reason to think the DE and Eldar are seperate forces and aren't killing each other out of your sight (which they have been), this broadcast will not be accepted into the official story.

Sorry bout that, too be honest, the fact that this whole discussion is in an area the whole public can see is a little inappropriate. It would be much more appropriate if this could be done by PM.
When I see stuff in commen forums(excluding the bat-reps themselves) like this, I assume that it would be commen knowlege to characters.
Take this to PM please so you can be more sneaky like.
This whole issue has erupted because the lack of definite forum rules and such, and what is common knowledge, and what isn't. While it is a little too late for that, if we do another campaign(which is looking more and more likely) we will work on that issue

I agree with witchking. This would have been better done via PM's. I honestly thought perhaps Incubilord (being the great and benevolent mod that he is ;D (blatant sucking up) had made it a locked thread similar to the race specific ones. I figured it wasn't when witchking posted. No harm done. It's not actually like his Marines were actively supporting me. It was story line support only. As far as I know the active marine player supporting me (Alex with his blood dragons) is playing it as if he has no knowledge of this. It also helps that i will be continuing to honor the agreement we made by helping against the Orks. In other words... look out Witchking I'm comin' for YOU>>> ~Dan

Some marines are actually in the area of the mountains. The message was beamed into the mountains. Im sure the information would be passed along to the inquisition.

As the 'great and benevolent mod that I am' (wait a minute, who's spreading these lies?), I decided that my own work should probably be public knowledge even if iit's not character knowledge. Trust me, the sneaky-like bits will be much quieter... Besides, there wasn't really a good place for a thread like this. PMs would have left the other Eldar players in the dark, and a DE player shouldn't be able to start threads in the Eldar area. Working as a player within the campaign, this was the only place for it - and the Necron-Tyranid alliance is in here, too. Right now, the forum isn't capable of doing thread-level access restrictions, so I'd have to create a new board just to have one chat with the craftworlders. Next time, however, we'll definitely be looking into how to do race-to-race and inner-group chatting without PMs. How this is best done... I'll need to look into that. alex: Actually, both parties involved are operating within the crystal ship beneath the mountains - nothing was beamed in or out.

Oh, I think the Imperium would possibly know the difference between Eldar and Dark Eldar. Just looking at them and their different type of skimmers would be a give away. Hey look, shiney elves and dark evil looking elves.
